Did you know that 90% of toys are made from plastic? And that 80% of them eventually end up in landfills, incinerators, or the ocean?
The Bunny Bin is a sustainable toy company building toward a future where reuse is the standard, not a compromise.
Rescue.
Every toy begins as a donation. We accept well-made toys that have been gently used and can be safely restored. Items are evaluated for overall condition, cleanliness, and durability before entering circulation. Our goal at this stage is simple: keep toys that are still usable out of landfills. Repair.
Rescued toys go through a thorough cleaning and inspection process using child-safe methods. Each toy is frozen for 72 hours as a precaution to neutralize any pests, then washed with hypoallergenic detergent, checked for wear or damage, and repaired as needed to ensure it’s ready for everyday use again.
This work is intentionally minimal and low-waste. We don’t remake toys or hide their age. Repairs are made only where they extend usability, safety, and longevity.
Rehome.
Once a toy is restored, it’s prepared for adoption. Each one comes with an official rescue certificate, acknowledging where it’s been and marking its transition to a new home.
These toys aren’t new, and they aren’t meant to be. They’re clean, safe, and ready to be made real again through the imaginations of those who love them.

My Story So Far: I’m well-loved and soft and squishy and ready to curl up at your feet for a cat nap. I’m a sweet and lazy companion and love low-key afternoons where we can paint and do puzzles and maybe even play with a ball of yarn… I mean knit!

My Story So Far: They say good things come in small packages, and I am VERY good things. Sure, my ears might be longer than my legs, and sure, I may be closer to the ground than most (I am a dachshund after all). But that just means I notice things other dogs miss! Worms! Interesting rocks! The crumbs you dropped at breakfast! No detail escapes me.

Toys are among the most plastic-intensive products on the market: 90% are made from plastic, and an estimated 80% end up in landfills, incinerators, or the ocean. Globally, the toy industry is worth $120 billion, and the U.S. accounts for 40% of that, despite being home to just 3% of the world's children.
Encouraging reuse & reducing the stigma of secondhand.
Reuse doesn't have to feel like a compromise. We help make secondhand practical, accessible, and desirable by sharing research-backed information, being transparent about our cleaning and restoration process, and curating toys that are safe and well-made.
Bringing children joy.
We keep buying new, assuming that's the only way to give kids joy. The Bunny Bin challenges that. We lean into what children instinctively know: that being loved doesn't diminish something's worth. We make reuse feel exciting instead of inferior, and we spotlight the individuality mass production can't offer. By extending the lives of things we own, we're building a healthier, safer future for everyone.
